Abstract
The present study compared dating violence in three private universities of Mexico City; additionally it assessed the psychometric properties of the CADRI inventory used in the study. A non probabilistic sample of 912 students answered a version of the cadri adapted to the Mexican student population. Results showed that the university with the highest percentage of male students, and the highest percentage of students living outside the family circle, also presented the highest dating violence scores. The psychometric analysis of the CADRI showed an adequate internal consistency, however the factor analysis showed that some dimensions of the instrument are not independent. Results are discussed in terms of their similarity with other studies and in terms of the aspects that should be corrected in the instrument.
