Abstract
To evaluate the correlation between social skills and self-efficacy beliefs, 136 Psychology academics of a private institution of Dourados (ms) participated in the study, using the IHS-Del-Prette and Self-Efficacy Scale in Higher Education. The results indicated a positive correlation between the factors of the two instruments. It is worth highlight that interventions regarding the training of social skills and self-efficacy factors will promote impact on others. It was observed positive correlations between the two instruments. The judgment of competences to deal with the higher education affects the choice of social competence, as well as a good social repertoire also favors a strong sense of self-efficacy on formation. Educational institutions must invest in the development of programs that promote the development of social skills and self-efficacy beliefs, important for the performance and permanence in higher education.
