Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the number of exercises answered by students in Mathup®, a computer program, and performance. The program is directed to the Net Generation and offers immediate feedback on the cause of the mistake committed, with the possibility to verify their knowledge with similar new exercises. The design is quasi-experimental with the 400 freshmen in the administrative careers of the host university. A pretest and posttest of arithmetic and algebraic exercises are applied and the difference between the results is calculated. It is found that the number of exercises practiced in MathUP® by students significantly influences the value of the difference, which represents a measure of the correction of errors and therefore an increase in academic performance. A questionnaire of satisfaction and use of the platform is also applied to the Net Generation.
