Abstract
The transactional theory establishes the relationship between coping strategies and emotions that are experienced after the assessment of the stressful event. This paper identifies the emotions, stress levels and coping strategies in stressful and pleasant events of 81 adolescents between 11 and 15 years, by the Emotions and Stress Questionnaire Coping (EAEC). The results show that adolescents often reported school and family situations as stressful events and emotions of anxiety and fear in conjunction with a style of emotionfocused coping, the data confirm the correlation between the stress level, the strategy focused in the excitement and emotions of negative tone.
