Abstract
From the Sexual Therapy positions, this paper studied the relationship of the affects associated to the masturbation with masturbation frequency, attitudes, religion and other variables of sexual behavior. It was a correlacional study with a trans-sectional design. An incidental sample of 395 Mexican psychology students (67 men and 328 women) was collected. The measure instrument was a sexuality survey. The attitude toward the masturbation, the masturbation frequency and the gender were predictors of positive affect. The attitude toward the sexuality and the low frequency of vaginal intercourses were predictors of negative affect. In conclusion, an attitude open to masturbation and practicing it with certain frequency are important requirements to enjoy it, having also weigh the masculine gender. Those persons show more acceptance and contact with the sexuality suffer less negative affect.
