Abstract
This study is a descriptive-correlational; it allowed to determine the relationship between academic performance and pedagogical factors in five public Educational Institutions of Santa Marta (Col.). With a sample of five teachers from the area of Technology and Informatics and 508 final grades of 15 student groups of the last three grades, significant associations were found between academic performance and pedagogical factors: update-qualification (r = 0.913, p < 0.05), teaching strategy (r = 0.881, p < 0.05) and self-monitoring (r = 0.912, p < 0.05). These results provide inputs for the taking of decisions aimed at improving pedagogical factors that are attributed to the teacher, and with it the quality of education.
