Abstract
This paper presents a discussion referring to the emotional development in childhood, based on Historical- Cultural Psychology. Vigotsky and his collaborators considered that initially there is a predominance of instinctive emotions, related to biological aspectsas well as of emotions, as superior function, culminating in the control in general of his own conduct made by the persons, and of his affects in particular. This understanding is relevant to the elucidation of psychological distress in childhood. of the organism and, subsequently, changes occur according to the activity established for the satisfaction of needs in relation to the social context in which the individual lives.
