Abstract

This research aimed to compare the general, fluid and crystallized intelligence with academic performance in the areas of social sciences, humanities, mathematics, natural sciences and environmental education, in a group of adolescents 12 to 15 years with low and high academic. The brief Kaufman intelligence test was applied to measure the types of intelligence and academic achievement to measure the GPA was used. It is a comparative descriptive study of crosscut, with no experimental design, comparing yields stockings test Kruskal-Wallis statistically significant differences between the two groups were found with respect to the three types of intelligence assessed. This research shows that general intelligence, fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence are especially critical for good academic performance in the areas of social sciences, humanities, mathematics, natural sciences and environmental education is obtained.
