Abstract
The purpose of the study is to describe the characteristics of Positive Mental Health of students of health sciences and to prepare an intervention proposal tailored to their specific needs regarding this type of health. A simple descriptive design of contrasting groups was used in a sample of 220 students, between men and women in an age range of 17 to 40 years. The instrument used was the scale of Positive Mental Health of Lluch (1999), adapted for the target population. The main results showed a prevalence of positive (appropriate) mental health in less than 43% of the students, considering as factors of greater risk, the lack of prosocial attitude, the poor ability to solve problems and self-actualization, and the scarce abilities of interpersonal relationship. The proposal designed was a program adjusted to the needs and potential risks identified in the study.
