Abstract
The purpose of this research was to culturally adapt and validate the short version of the Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ-VC) for the Mexican population. The sample was from the community and consisted of 457 university students (X age = 20.39, 77.5% women). to whom a sociodemographic data sheet, the Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire —short version— (CERQ-VC), the Emotional Regulation Difficulties Scale (DERS-E) and the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) were applied. The cultural adaptation of the cerq-vc was carried out. Data analyzes included evaluating factorial structure, internal consistency, and convergent validity. The instrument yielded eight factors and an acceptable consistency; finally, it was observed that there is convergent validity. The results show that the cerq-vc is a valid instrument with satisfactory psychometric properties for use in the Mexican population.
