Abstract
This article corresponds to a qualitative research of a descriptive type, whose purpose is to understand the meaning of happiness in future basic education teachers in social isolation due to covid-19. As a methodological strategy, a purposeful sampling of 10 education school students was used, who were selected as key informants, to whom a semi-structured interview was applied. Data analysis was carried through thematic analysis, using the Atlas-ti version 7 program; semantic maps of conceptual families
were elaborated. The findings show that the perception of happiness was considered a challenge, overcome by the meaning of their training as future teachers and that it had a positive impact on their school performance. It is concluded that happiness
is a motivator for the academic work of young people and that there is a strong link between school connectivity and family well-being in crisis situations.
