Abstract
From a behavioral perspective,depression is defined as the loss of positive reinforcement related withhuman life experiences. In thatregard, the behavioral interventionshave had huge effectiveness forthe treatment of this psychological problem. The aim of this article is to present a behavioral intervention ina person with depression associated with the death (loss) of a close person.Treatment components included Behavioral Activation, and otherbehavioral modifications techniques such as stimuli control. An initialevaluation was carried out froma semi-structured interview. Theresults were analyzed based onthe behavioral parameters such asoccurrence, frequency and durationof the behaviors to increase anddecrease in the intervention aim. Among these, the following standout activities for certain living areas such as self-care, family, social andacademic. A monitoring session was carried out in order to observethe behavioral maintenance and toidentify limitations of the study. Inconclusion a behavioral psychologicalintervention is effective for thetreatment of depression associated with the loss of a close person.
