Abstract
It has been suggested that thenumber of children can facilitate violent incidents in the couple. Although it has not been described whether the number of children facilitates more perpetrated violencein men or women. Given this, anon-probabilistic sample of 274 women ( M = 29.50 years of age) and 207 men ( M = 31.94 years of age) was obtained. With this sample it was sought to demonstrate that thenumber of children predicts intimate partner violence in men and women.Simple linear regressions were carried out that showed that the number ofchildren causes violence perpetratedin the partner with the exception of psychological and physical violence perpetrated by men. Subsequently, aninteraction was sought with a doubleclassification Anova between thenumber of children and sex as a causeof violence. No such interaction was found. This topic is disputed becausethe potential for violence is intrinsicin men and women.
