Abstract

This study’s aim is to find the relation between the executive functions and social skills. 10 teenagers, 5 women and 5 men, all Salvador Zamudio Junior High students in the city of Puebla, took part in this research. They answered the banfe test (Flores, Ostrosky and Lozano, 2012) and the messy scale with Méndez, Hidalgo and Ingles’ dimensions (2002). According to Spearman coefficient, there is a correlation between a lack of executive functions and a deficit in social skills. The results are consistent with the literature proposed by Ciairano, Bonino and Miceli (2006); we must take into account that the prefrontal medial cortex and the prefrontal dorsolateral cortex play an important role in social skills.
