Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze how negotiation skills, perceived self-efficacy and assertiveness, among other interpersonal factors have direct and indirect effects on condom use during sexual intercourses in college students by calculating structural equations. This study was developed and applied a questionnaire to 350 young men and women, students of a public university who indicated having or having sex. Analyzes were performed separately for men and women in the frequency of condom use during sex. The models indicated significant data settings, as well as direct effects of all the variables. The ability to negotiate condom use has a direct effect on safe sex practices among women and men.
